English: The gravestone of the family Szarek/Scharek at the Lutheran cemetery in Międzyrzecze Dolne/Nieder Kurzwald, Cieszyn Silesia. At the top the inscription in German (the neighbouring village Międzyrzecze Górne/Ober Kurzwald was until 1945 majorly German), at the bottom the Polish name of a younger member of family – an example of the assimilation of Germans, who decided to stay in Silesia after the war. |
