Description

Het station ligt op een diepte van 18 meter onder straatniveau van de Statenweg en is hiermee het diepst gelegen metrostation in Rotterdam. Op 16 augustus 2010 vond de officiële opening plaats. Hiermee krijgen ook Voorburg, Leidschendam, Nootdorp, Pijnacker en Berkel en Rodenrijs een rechtstreekse verbinding met het centrum van Rotterdam. Er is één spoor in gebruik genomen worden, ingebruikname van het tweede spoor is voorzien voor 2011.

Het station ligt aan de Rotterdamse metrolijn E (Rotterdam Centraal - Den Haag Centraal). De treinen rijden tot 2011 om het kwartier met extra lange treinstellen, daarna om de 10 minuten. De rit van CS naar CS duurt ca 30 minuten. In het Rotterdamse tracé (Statenwegtracé) zit een tunnel van 2,3 km lengte.
