Description
English: Messier 4 is a globular cluster 7,200 ly away in the constellation of Scorpius - The closest globular cluster to the Solar System (along with NGC 6397) - Loosely concentrated, it features a characteristic "bar" structure across its core - 12.2 billion years old, it hosts two distinct stellar populations distinguishable by metallicity (and several white dwarfs that are the oldest known stars in the Milky Way) -
