Title
Mesolithic to Neolithic debitage; denticulate flake (plan).
Description
English: Probably early Mesolithic to early Neolithic (9000 - 3300BC) denticulate: The flint flake is an elongated oval in plan and sub-trapezoidal in section. The ventral surface has a small bulb of percussion, and conchoidal ripples. The dorsal surface has three main vertical scars three other smaller scars. The distal end of the dorsal surface has a trace of a thick yellow patina suggesting the flake was taken from an older worked flint item. The flint is otherwise a mottled dark to light grey with a light brown colour.

Along both lateral edges, on the dorsal surface there is slight re-touch which forms a very fine serrated edge which can be felt and viewed using an eye-glass.

The denticulate measures 33.39mm in length, 18.05mm width, is 5.95mm thick and weighs 3.34g.

This item is a type of serrated implement and dates to the early Mesolithic to early Neolithic period.
