Summary

[edit]
Description The Mer Bleue Peat Bog, located southeast of Ottawa, is designated as a wetland of inernational significance by the Ramsar Convention. It is a boreal-like ecosystem not normally found this far south. At the end of the Ice Age, the bog was one of the channels of the Ottawa River. This boardwalk crosses a swamp that acts as an intermediate zone before actually penetrating the bog.
