Description
English: Memories written in English by Alexander Hess (1898–1981), a native of Karlovy Hutě and an air force brigadier general, who was at birth of the First Czechoslovak Fighter Squadron RAF in Great Britain and became its first commander. (State District Archives Beroun, Hess Alexander, brig. gen.– personal fond, untreated.)
Čeština: Anglicky psané vzpomínky Alexandra Hesse (1898–1981), rodáka z Karlovy Hutě a leteckého důstojníka československé armády, který se podílel na formování první československé stíhací perutě v RAF a stal se jejím prvním velitelem. Z pozice velitele 2. leteckého sboru v Českých Budějovicích byl po komunistickém puči v únoru 1948 poslán na „zvláštní dovolenou“ a přeložen do výslužby. Zemřel v exilu na Floridě. V roce 1991 byl povýšen in memoriam do hodnosti generálplukovníka. (SOkA Beroun, Hess Alexander, brig. gen.– osobní fond, nezprac.)
