Summary

[edit]
Description On 28th December 1882, 54 people, most of them children, died when the 255ft tall chimney of Newlands Mill collapsed. Each red paving stone represents a life lost, and each numbered stone indicates their ages The youngest person to die was 8. Curiously it is best viewed from the grassy knoll behind which means it's upside down.
