Description
English: GARMSIR DISTRICT, Helmand province, Afghanistan — Friends of Cpl. Nicholas S. Ott listen while Navy Lt. Carl Rhoads give a pastoral reflection during a memorial service at Combat Outpost Rankel here, Aug. 17. Rhoads, a native of Weippe, Idaho, is the chaplain for 1st Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment. The memorial service was for Cpl. Nicholas S. Ott who died while supporting counterinsurgency operations here, Aug. 10. Ott, a native of Manchester, N.J., was a squad leader with 3rd Platoon, Charlie Company.
