Medieval shield shaped mount
Description
English: A medieval copper-alloy shield-shaped mount. The shield is flat and decorated with a gilded and enamelled chequer-board pattern. The upper two rows alternate between red enamel and gilded squares. The central row is unclear. The lower two alternate between blue enamel and gilded squares. An integral shank extends from the centre of the reverse.
