Title
Medieval harness pendant set
Description
English: A small medieval copper alloy harness pendant dating from 1200 - 1400. The pendant is shield shaped, rectangular in section, and undecorated, though the metal is very grey suggesting it was tinned or has a high lead content. The pendant is still attached to the suspension mount by the usual suspension loop that projects from the centre of the top. The mount is shaped like a figure of eight, with the top lobe hiding the attachment rivet (integral) on the reverse, and the lower lobe being formed of the two rounded lugs whic hflank the loop on the pendant and hold the iron axis bar. Compare IOW-051DF1.
