Medieval buckle plate or mount
Description
English: A complete copper-alloy gilded buckle plate or mount of the Medieval period (c.AD 1200-1400). The plate is flat and triangular. One end is bent inwards forming a squared hooked lip. The opposite end has two circular perforations along the edge. The upper surface around the perforations is gilded. This is very worn and abraded. The rest of the upper surface and underside have a mottled mid green and mid brown patina.

The plate measures 20.2mm long, a maximum of 21mm wide and 1.5mm thick. The perforations are 1.5-2mm diameter. The plate weighs 3.01 grams.
