Title
Medieval buckle
Description
English: An incomplete cast copper-alloy buckle dating to the Medieval period (c. AD 1350-1450). The buckle is oval with a triangular-sectioned frame that has a lipped outer edge. Attached to either side of the frame is a flat forked rectangular-sectioned spacer consisting of a broadly square-shaped panel that extends into a square-sectioned prong. The circular-sectioned pin bar between the spacers is broken and bent downwards under the opposing spacer. The underside of the buckle is plain and flat. The entire object has a dark green patina.

The buckle measures 33.62mm in length. The frame has a diameter of 26.2mm and is 3.8mm thick. The complete spacer and prong is 15.6mm long, a maximum of 7.2mm wide and 2mm thick. The entire object weighs 5 grams.
