Description |
English: A medieval copper alloy bar-mount from a belt with central and terminal lobes. The one of the terminal lobes is abraded and the rivet is missing, the other is complete. The complete rivet extends out to the reverse, the reverse of the terminal lobes are concave. The central lobe is slightly concave to the reverse and domed to the front and decorated with a band of three horizontal grooves. Similarly decorated bar-mounts with central and terminal lobes from London date to the 13th and 14th century (Egan & Pritchard 1991 nos.1154-1162). The mount is 18.55mm in length, 9.0mm wide, 3.85mm thick and weighs 1.19 grams. |
