Description |
English: An incomplete Medieval cast copper alloy bar mount. It has a central lobe, with a hole, and two tapering bars of which only one survives. It has a terminal lobe which is pierced by a copper alloy rivet. The mount is mostly semi-circular in section, with a flat back; but the bars is faceted making it triangular in section. It is decorated with a raised ridge across each end of the bar. It dates from 1150-1350. See also PAS record IDs SWYOR-B04BD3, BERK-8CFC90 and KENT-D00533 for similar bar mounts. Also, Egan fig. 1154. |
