Title
Medieval bar mount
Description
English: A copper-alloy bar mount of Medieval date.

The central portion of the mount consists of a truncated circular moulding, through the centre of which extends a circular aperture. From above and below this central moulding extends an 'arm' of semicircular section, the sides of which converge towards a wider, sub-rectangular moulding, each perforated by an in situ copper-alloy rivet. The artefact measures 25.1mm long, 9.5mm wide, 3.1mm thick and weighs 1.7g.

Several similar bar mounts were found in excavations in London, where their contexts ranged in date from c. 1270 to c. 1400 (Egan and Pritchard 1991: 213-214).
