Description
English: Incomplete Medieval gilt bar mount from a belt, both terminal lobes broken across perforation, traces of engraved transverse lines on D-sectioned bar, now bent into U shape, 7 x (unbent) >33mm. Cf. mounts on 13th century effigies of knights in the Temple Church, London, Dress Accessories (1991) fig.132 and illustrations of broadly similar examples in fig.134. 13th-14th century.
