Description
English: Very unusual Medieval bar mount from belt, both terminal lobes, rather than being pierced by rivets, have stumps of integral flat-sectioned spikes for attachment, and solid central lobe with worn remains of incised cross-hatching, 8 x 24mm. Cf. broadly similar examples, although with hollow backs and separate rivets, in Dress Accessories (1991) fig.134, nos.1160-1. 15th century.
