Description |
English: A Medieval copper alloy harness pendant (14th-15th century). The pendant is quatrefoil with a triangular projection between each foil. The perforated loop for suspension is set at 90 degrees to the pendant and is broken through the perforation. The front of the pendant has three lions passant guardant (allusive to England) set against a background of red enamel within a shield-shaped field. Patches of enamel, probably green surround the central motif. Patchy dark green patina. It is very similar to no. 215 found in Norfolk (Ashley, 2002:21).
