Medieval Buckle from Swinhope
Description
English: Copper alloy

Buckle. Small cast oval frame with straight bar, round which remains of a tapered sheet metal plate 1mm thick with central slot are wrapped; a single central rivet remains through the plate. The two sides of the buckle plate are 1.6mm apart, suggesting the thickness of strap to which it was attached. Suggested date: Medieval, 1350-1400.

Length: 24.05mm, Width: 15.52mm, Thickness: 3.46mm, Weight: 1.92gms.
