Medieval Bar Mount
Description
English: A copper alloy simple rectangular bar mount of medieval date (1250-1450). The mount is rectangular in plan and roughly D-shaped in section, being flat to the reverse and gently faceted to the upper surface. There are two evenly spaced rivet holes each with a copper alloy rivet in situ, one of which has been bent at the reverse. The mount is 15.65mm long, 4.5mm wide and 1.65mm thick. With the rivets it is 4.5mm thick and weighs 0.70g.

Similar rectangular bar mounts are illustrated in Read (2001), p.23, fig.12, in particular no. 158, which is dated to AD 1270-1350.
