Title
Medieval : bar mount
Description
English: Incomplete medieval copper-alloy bar mount with central oval domed body (c. 1150 - 1450 AD). The attachment lobe at one end has been broken off but enough remains to show that it was perforated by a central rivet hole. The lobe at the other end has survived intact with a copper-alloy rivet. The front surface of the mount is decorated by hachured grooves. The back of the mount is concave and filled with organic detriment as a result of the depositional context of the object. The mount has a dark brown patina. It is 14.50mm in length, 8.83mm in width and 2.80mm in thickness. The weight of the mount is 1.05g.
