Notes | Coronation Medal, Queen Elizabeth II, 1953 Awarded to Alton Clive Johns of Auckland, New Zealand. Alton Clive Johns of Auckland served with the Wellington Infantry Regiment during WW1. His service was on the western front where he was twice wounded. . Post war AC Johns ran a radio manufacturing business in Auckland and for a period ran a private radio station. He also served on a number of community boards and was Mayor of Mt Eden from 1950-1959. His interests included sports and he was Captain of the first NZ Hockey Team, and became an Auckland tennis representative. He was awarded the Queen's Service Order (Companion) for his public service. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
