English: Pacific Star, WW2 Awarded to Oscar Weldon Carter, Royal New Zealand Naval Volunteer Reserve, WW2 bronze medal; six-pointed star; ring suspension; with ribbon obverse- at centre the Royal cypher GRI with VI below; cypher surmounted by a crown superimposed on a circlet which bears the title of the star THE PACIFIC STAR reverse- plain ribbon- dark green with red edges with yellow stripe, and thin stripes of dark blue and light blue (ribbon designed by King George VI - green and yellow symbolise the forests and beaches; the dark blue represents the Navy, the red the Army and the light blue the Air Force) unnamed

Notes Pacific Star, WW2 Awarded to Oscar Weldon Carter, Royal New Zealand Naval Volunteer Reserve, WW2 Lieutenant Commander Oscar Weldon Carter, Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve, WW1 and RNZN Volunteer Reserve, WW2 Oscar Carter of Devonport Auckland enlisted as a sub-lieutenant with the Royal Naval Auxiliary Patrol (Motor Boat Service) of the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve and embarked aboard Demosthenes in December 1916. He remained in service until May 1919 and received the British War Medal and Victory medal. During WW2 he enlisted with the Royal New Zealand Naval Volunteer Reserve and received the Pacific Campaign Star, War Medal 1939-45 and the New Zealand Service Medal.
