English: Victory Medal, with MID oak leaf emblem, issued to Sir Keith Rodney Park WW1 bronze circular medal; 36mm diameter; ring suspender, with ribbon and oak leaf emblem missing obverse- The winged, full-length figure of Victory, with her arm extended and holding a palm branch in her right hand. reverse- inscription ‘THE GREAT WAR FOR CIVILIZATION, 1914-1919’ surrounded by a wreath. medal named on rim- MAJOR K.R. PARK R.A.F. ribbon- grosgrain ribbon, 37mm wide, rainbow pattern.

Notes Victory Medal, with MID oak leaf emblem, awarded to Major Keith R Park, RAF WW1 (clasp missing) Following his service on Gallipoli with the NZ Field Artillery and the BEF Keith Park was posted to the Western Front serving on the Somme and finally at Ypres where he was wounded. In 1917 Park transferred to the Royal Flying Corps and as a pilot (48 Squadron) he experienced aerial combat and observation at first-hand over the Western Front. He proved himself to be brave and skilful, and in 1918 earned his first independent command.
