Title
Med Bar Mount
Description
English: A cast copper-alloy medieval bar mount, small and sub-hemispherical in form dating to c. 14th century. The convex, central lobe is crossed by three main neatly incised transverse lines that create ridges. One of the smaller perforated terminal lobes retains a copper-alloy rivet. The reverse is recessed in all three lobes, central and terminal.

The mount is 13.97mm long, up to 7.41mm wide, up to 3.25mm thick and weighs 0.95g

The object is similar to artefacts illustrated in Read (2001, 23; fig. 12) and Egan and Pritchard (1991, 214; fig. 134) which are dated to the second half of the fourteenth century
