Description
Nederlands: Detail van de monumentale preekstoel van de Sint-Romboutskathedraal in Mechelen. De preekstoel werd door Michiel Vervoort (1667-1737) uit Antwerpen in 1721-1723 gebeeldhouwd voor de kloosterkerk van de Norbertinessen van Leliëndael (Bruul, huidige jezuietenkerk). Na de Franse revolutie werd hij in 1809 naar de kathedraal gebracht en door Jan-Frans van Geel (1756-1830) om een zuil weer opgebouwd.
English: Detail of the monumental pulpit of St-Rumbold's Cathedral in Mechelen (Belgium). The pulpit was carved by the Antwerp artist Michiel Vervoort (1667-1737) in 1721-1723 for the cionvent church of the sisters of Norbertus of Leliëndaal (now a jesuit church in the main street Bruul). After the French Revolution the pulpit was installed in the cathedral and built around a column by Jan-Frans van Geel (1756-1830).
