Summary
[edit]DescriptionMatra 610 "Coupé Napoléon".jpg |
English: This, the Matra 610 "Coupé Napoléon" is the first Matra Prototype competition car. Obviously based on René Bonnet's "Djet" it was developed with rallying in mind, although it only competed in one event. It started in the 1965 "Rally des Cevennes", with Johnny Servoz-Gavin and Fargeon.
Being too much Bonnet and not enough Matra, Matra-boss Jean-Luc Lagardère decided to abandon this in favour of the upcoming MS620 (the car right behind in this photo). The original was destroyed, this is a recreation made with spare parts and is displayed at the Musée Matra in Romorantin, France. |
