Description Darmstadt. Die Mathildenhöhe, früher ein großherzoglicher Garten, ist von dem Großherzog Ernst Ludwig vorwärtsstrebenden Künstlern überlassen worden, die als "Künstlerkolonie" hier wohnen und arbeiten und besonders durch Ausstellungen seit 1901 großen Einfluß auf die Entwicklung der bildenden Kunst und des Kunstgewerbes gewonnen haben.
