Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Cast iron mechanical bank. Shows an Italian mason working on a brick wall with an Irish hod carrier. To deposit a coin, it must be placed in the hod. Hitting the lever will move the hod forward allowing the coin to drop into a trap that opens to receive the coin. At the same time the mason raises both hands, lifting a brick and trowel. When the lever is released, the coin trap closes and all other parts return to their previous position. Manufactured by the Shepard Hardware Company circa 1887.
