English: Mary Tavy Hydro Electric Power Station. The power station is owned and run by South West Water, producing 2610 kilowatts and feeding into the National Grid, sufficient to power 2500+ homes.
Electricity has been generated here since 1932. See also 1760371 and 1760376 http://www.marytavyparishcouncil.co.uk/myhistory.htm#waterpower Tours of the station take place during the Heritage Open Days every September, see http://www.heritagedays.net |
