Description FORT BENNING, Ga.--Officials from Fort Benning, Army Medical Command, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Savannah district, and Turner Construction celebrated the placement of the last steel beam on the Martin Army Community Hospital project with a “topping out” ceremony, Sept. 14, 2012. The ceremony marks a major milestone in the construction of the $333 million hospital project, spanning 745,000 square feet with 70 in-patient beds. The design is split into two wings—a clinic and a hospital section—and has two parking decks for patients and staff members. The project is slated for completion in late 2014. U.S. Army photos.
