Summary
[edit]DescriptionMaritime Hotel and Dream Downtown Hotel 2.jpg | The Maritime Hotel (right), on 9th Avenue between West 16th and 17th Streets in Manhattan, New York City, was built in 1966 as the headquarters of the National Maritime Union of America, and was designed by Albert C. Ledner. The building was sold in 1988 to Covenant House, a drug-rehabilitation program, and then in 1994 to the Chinese government, which used it as student and diplomatic housing. The hotel opened in 2003. On the left is the 17th Street facade of the Dream Downtown Hotel, also designed by Ledner for the NMU. This hotel opened in 2011. The hotels are uner seperate ownership and management. |
