Handwritten on verso: This dear beautiful fir tree is used each year as a Municipal Xmas tree, and is strung all over with electric colored lights.

The Marion County Courthouse was built in 1873 and demolished in 1952. The Goddess of Justice statue was removed from the top of the building and relocated to Willamette University. The new courthouse sits at the same location (on State St. and High St.).
