Description
Deutsch: Südansicht der Friedenskirche in der oberösterreichischen Stadt Marchtrenk.
Aufgrund der Vertreibungen gegen Ende des 2. Weltkrieges kamen evangelische Christen nach Marchtrenk, die anfangs von der evangelischen Gemeinde Wels betreut wurden. 1954 erhielt Marchtrenk den Status einer Predigtstation und 1961 den einer eigenständigen Pfarrgemeinde. Ab 1957 erfolgte der Bau eines 1. Pfarrhauses. Am 26. Mai 1968 fand die Grundsteinlegung der neuen Pfarrkirche statt und am 21. Juni 1970 wurde sie feierlich durch Bischof Sakrausky, Superintendent Dr. Temmel und Pfarrer Steininger eingeweiht. Im Jahr 2011 wurde das große, nachts beleuchtete Kreuz am Kirchturm angebracht.
