English: Sgt. 1st Class Jason Syriac, a military police officer with the North Carolina National Guard’s Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 130th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, plays with his dog, Rosco, in the motor pool behind his unit’s armory in Charlotte, N.C., Jan. 11. Rosco is a post-traumatic stress disorder companion animal whose main job is to help Syriac, a two-time Iraq war veteran, deal with the disorder and help him recover. Syriac also helps rescue dogs to be trained for other service members in order for them to also benefit from the companionship he experiences with Rosco. (U.S. Army National Guard Photo by Staff Sgt.
