Description Illustration of Malakas and Maganda (Strong One and Beautiful One), depicted here descending from their bamboo of origin. Being the first man and woman of Philippine folklore, Malakas and Maganda emerged from the gigantic bamboo that was pecked by the legendary sarimanok bird. This illustration was created using an HB pencil. For this illustration the artist employed sketching and line-drawing. This drawing was electronically enhanced. Color was applied via a computer as well.
