English: Since the beginning of the pandemic, a lot of locals from where i live in Lagos,Nigeria have been skeptical about the potency of the corona virus , downplaying the threat as warned by the government, relying on conspiracies from local herbalists and religious fanatics .I happen to meet a medical practitioner at a local clinic who tries to explain the virus using a makeshift model (consisting of an orange and pins pierced through and around it)to the local residents.
At first, it was difficult getting the people to believe that something so minute could put the whole world on hold, but with time the locals began to believe after series of experiments involving germs and sanitizers. Tremendous progress was recorded through the enlightenment prompting the local residents to adhere to the safety guidelines as advised by the government.
