English: Norwegian photographer Anders Wilse took a number of photographs of the Makah people at Neah Bay, on Washington's Olympic Peninsula. In this photo, taken around 1900, a small boy handles the oars of a large cedar canoe at Neah Bay. Makah children learned how to handle canoes at a young age.
