Description
Français : La maison se trouve place de la République (Grand Place), à l'angle de la rue Pissevin.

C'est l'un des derniers exemples des constructions à arcades qui occupaient autrefois la place. Cette construction présente une particularité : un rez-de-chaussée (et en particulier, les arcades) réservé aux commerces (boucherie vraisemblablement) et les étages pour l'habitat. Cependant, les étages de la maison ont été remaniés au 18e alors que le soubassement date du 15e.

Cette maison vit naître Gabriel ROUX (1833) précurseur de la découverte de la pénicilline et des antibiotiques
English: The house is located Place de la République (Grand Place), at the corner of rue Pissevin.

It is one of the last examples of arcaded constructions that once occupied the square. This construction has a particularity: a ground floor (and in particular, the arcades) reserved for shops (probably a butcher's shop) and the floors for housing. However, the floors of the house were altered in the 18th century while the base dates from the 15th.

This house saw the birth of Gabriel ROUX (1833), a pioneer in the discovery of penicillin and antibiotics
