| Description |
English: Maiden Stone dating from the 9th century AD, this is thought to be one of the last stones to be carved.
The east face, shown here, is divided into 4 panels with, uppermost, a centaur?, below a notched rectangle & Z rod, a pictish beast and at the bottom a mirror and double sided comb. The west face has fish monsters, a calvary scene on a cross and spiral & knot work. |
