Bahasa Melayu: PUTRAJAYA, 31 Disember – Perdana Menteri, YAB Tun Dr. Mahathir Bin Mohamad menghadiri majlis bagi menyempurnakan arca “PUTRAJAYA” di Dataran Putra, Presint 1, Putrajaya.

Turut hadir bersama Presiden Perbadanan Putrajaya (PPj), YBhg. Datuk Dr. Aminuddin bin Hassim. Arca ini adalah mercu tanda baharu yang merupakan manifestasi keutuhan Putrajaya sebagai Pusat Pentadbiran Kerajaan Persekutuan sejak dibangunkan pada tahun 1995. Reka bentuk arca ini diinspirasikan oleh kumpulan pegawai-pegawai muda PPj bagi mewujudkan ‘landmark’ Putrajaya seperti mana arca-arca tulisan di luar negara sekaligus menjadikan tarikan kepada pelancong. Arca ini direka bentuk dengan imej abstrak bewarna warni harmoni mengekspresikan kegembiraan dan antara keunikan arca ini adalah paparan imej grafik yang boleh ditukar ganti. Bahagian belakang huruf ini pula berimejkan kibaran jalur gemilang menggambarkan semangat cinta dan sayang kepada negara Malaysia.

Struktur arca “PUTRAJAYA” ini dikukuhkan dengan asas tapak huruf berkelebaran 1.5 meter (5 kaki), dengan ketinggian 2.4 meter (8 kaki) dan panjang keseluruhan huruf adalah sepanjang 22 meter (66 kaki) yang dibina daripada stainless steel supaya tahan lasak.
