Summary
[edit]DescriptionMadeira Lift, Brighton.jpg |
English: The roof of Madeira Lift in Brighton. Built in 1890, it links Marine Parade with Madeira Drive. The roof was restored in 2012-13. Two of the original griffins on the corners were repaired and two recast to match. The large orb and weathervane were also repaired and were finally lifted into place by five men who carefully adjusted the dolphin and compass to point in the correct directions.
