Macrolepiota prominens (Fr.) M.M. Moser

Image location: Fort Yargo State Park, Winder, Georgia, USA

Solitary immature mushroom growing in mixed hardwood/pine forest.

Cap. Ca. 3 inches diameter, white with brown center; coarse scales. Gills. White, free. Stipe. Gray, ca. 0.5 inches diameter and ca. 3 inches long; prominent double-edged annulus present.
