Description העמקת ערוץ הירדן בכ-5-6 מ' והרחבתו ממוצא החולה ועד למרחק של 1.5 ק"מ דרומה מגשר בנות-יעקב. העבודה בוצעה בשנים 1951-1953; הרחבת ערוץ הנהר הזורם בין סלעי בזלת אפשרה בצוע מפעל ייבוש החולה. הפיצוצים נעשו מתחת למים ללא יכולת הטיית האפיק בגלל קרבתו המיידית של הגבול. בתמונה - הקטע בקרבת גשר בנות יעקב לרגלי תחנת משמר גבול סורית.
