  • Built 1939 at Moss værft in Norway as MS Bastø II for A/S Alpha, Moss, Norway
  • 1944 Commanded by the Germans for troup transportations
  • 1961 Sold to Eckerö Linjen in Åland, renamed: MS Alandia
  • 1961 Capsized without any casualities. Was salvaged and put into service again, after that nicknamed "Åland runt". ("Alandia around")
  • 1976 Sold for scrap to Ystad.

Brief history of the vessel:

  • Built 1939 at Moss værft in Norway as MS Bastø II for traffic between Moss and Horten
  • After 22 years of faithful service (apart from 1944 when commanded by the Germans for troup transportations) sold to Eckerö Line in Åland 1961
  • In service as MS Alandia between Grisslehamn and Eckerö to 1976 when sold for scrap to Ystad. The last years only in reserve and summertime
  • Capsized once in 1961, without any casualities. Was salvaged and put into service again, after that nicknamed "Åland runt". ("Alandia around")
