Description
English: The M56A4 High Explosive Incendiary 20mm cannon round was replaced this week by the higher velocity PGU-28A/B 20mm SAPHEI round. The newer ammunition contains a 'hotter load' allowing for higher velocity, greater standoff distance for the pilot, and greater effect on impact. Its use in strafing runs Feb. 22 marked the first-ever for Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcon pilots in Iraq.
