Description

Einer der größten Bauskandale in Berlin - Die Baukosten für die Tierversuchsanstalt der FU Berlin stiegen innerhalb der 10jährigen Bauzeit um das 32-fache von 4 auf 126,5 Millionen DM. Wegen Asbestbelastung konnte der Bau dann jedoch nicht mehr für den ürsprünglichen Zweck genutzt werden. Das Gebäude ist zudem von monumentaler und brutaler Häßlichkeit und erinnert an eine Kreuzung aus Wolfsschanze und Panzerkreuzer Potemkin. Für Menschen ist die Nutzung lebensgefährlich, es wurde vermutet, dass ein Zusammenhang zwischen der Asbestverseuchung und Todesfällen bestehen könnte. Der Berliner Flughafen BER ist so gesehen nix Neues - das konnte man in Berlin schon immer ganz gut. Zur Rechenschaft gezogen wurde natürlich niemand.

Ob es abgerissen wird oder rückgebaut wird ist offen - ich finde es sollte als Mahnmahl gegen öffentliche Verschwendung erhalten bleiben.
