| Description |
MMMmmm! Very simple, but it's not exactly health food. :-) Melt two sticks of margarine in a large bowl. Mix in 3 cups oats, 1 1/2 cups flour, 1 cup brown sugar, 1 tsp baking soda and 3/4 tsp salt. Save 1 1/2 cups of the mixture, and press the rest into a 9x12 pan. Bake 10 minutes at 375 F. Melt 2 tsp shortening (i.e. Crisco) in a saucepan, and add 1 cup M&Ms. Crush them as the chocolate melts, creating a mosaic effect. Remove from heat and stir in one can sweetened condensed milk. (This is the filling.) Spread over the cooled baked crust. Sprinkle bits of the reserved dough on top, then sprinkle 1/2 cup M&Ms over that. Bake for 20 minutes at 375 F. |
