Opis vrste

D.t. 15–17 cm. Naseljava zapadnu, centralnu i južnu Evropu, delove Male Azije, jugozapadne Azije i severne Afrike. Izrazita je selica. Zimu provodi u podsaharskoj Africi. Staništa su mu mozaični predeli sa gustim žbunjem i prizemnom vegetacijom, obodi listopadnih šuma, živice, voćnjaci, parkovi i vrtovi u ravnici i pobrđu. Gnezda smešta na tlo gde ih pažljivo sakriva u prizemnoj vegetaciji. Hrani se različitim beskičmenjacima (insekti, gliste), kao i bobicama u periodu pred jesenju seobu. Evropska populacija je stabilna. U Srbiji se populacija procenjuje na 120.000–200.000 parova, sa trendom blagog opadanja brojnosti (Puzović et al 2009).
