Description

I took this short hike on the 4th of July, 2009, and had the trail almost to myself. This trail is short - two miles to the gorge and then you can go a little bit further to a hand operated tram. I forgot my tripod so had to rely on steady hands for the long exposure shots.

The Winner Creek trail starts behind the Alyeska Hotel in Girdwood, about 40 miles from Anchorage, Alaska. The trail is very easy - a combination of wide paths and boardwalk. The gorge itself is very impressive but requires a lot of care since there are slippery rocks everywhere. Piece of cake trail.
